Just as a reminder for everytime you come to this page:

On the day of Judgement, when there will be no shade except for the shade of Allah (SWT), 7 (types of) people will be under the shade of Allah (SWT). From those 7 one type is those two people who loved each other for the sake of Allah (SWT)...

I just want to say that I love you guys for the sake of Allah (SWT) and, inshaAllah, I mean it by my tongue and through my actions...

Sadly, we don't see each other as much.

I guess this is what all those people meant a few years ago when they said "you'll miss these days (high school)"...

Although we haven't exactly 'gone our own ways' just yet, I think that there will come a time when we will be apart, busy with our own lives/family/etc (I hope not!).

I don't want to make you guys feel all deplorable or anything, but I just want to remind you guy that the time friends do have together should be spent doing good. That way on the day of judgement when a man will 'runaway from his own brother, his own mother, his own father, his own spouse, and even his own children' we can be running to one another, using each other as witnesses to the good things we did; thanking each other for the good we enjoined.

why dont you come to the halaqas??? we all need weekly reminders to stay on the right path.. u dont realize it but in reality we are all getting desensitized...our standards are getting so low.. we would rather sleep instead of coming to the masjid. I wonder what the Prophet(S) would say to that. Amazing how we can say "i have to do homework", yet the only thing we do is watch tv.. the MAIN source of our desensitization..None of us can say that we do not need a weekly reminder. Our MSA jumuahs are definitely not enough..and if u do think that u do not need a weekly reminder, that is proof of you being desensitized. Just trying to say that we need all you guys to come to the masjid.. if u get sleepy, DONT SLEEP...come to the masjid..

I just read your comment on one of my posts. Nice comment but even if people think about the self manifestation of the world and such, they are likely to push it off. Actually most of the people that think about such things become depressed. They don't have an answer like we do. :_
Others become obsessed to find an answer. In an environment such as a school, for instance, people with friends will be preoccupied with them instead of problems such as the ones you talked about. Besides, I believe most often, adults are the ones who ponder upon these things. How this work deserves a post of its own. Ah... socialism. Allah-hafiz.

There is a distinction between general discussion and instructing others upon the actions they may take. Ramadan is over, so I'm going to share with you a few things that I am going to miss:

Going to the Masjid, every day for at least 1 hour and 30 minutes
Clements MSA- Mrs. Harrison's Rm.- that was "interesting"
Not finishing Moby Dick (and I never will me hearties!)
Actually talking to the little fishes at school. Only during Lunch though :)
Skipping Sunday School for All-Night Programs
Football and hanging around during Laylatul-Qadr was "fun" (Hehe)
Maulana Rafiq Ismail
Playing "Hide and Seek" inside the new masjid part till Asad became victim to a nose bleed (Approx. 5 minutes)
Khatmul Qur'an
and the last thing to come to my mind, right now, - Fasting!

Sports Car vs. Quraan - a nice story

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months
he
had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and
knowing
his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he
wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man waited signs that his
father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his
graduation his father called him into his private study. His father
told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how
much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and
found a lovely, leather-bound Quran. Angrily, he raised his voice
at
his father and said "With all your money you give me a Quran?" and
stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.
Many years
passed and the young man was very successful in business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his
father
was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not
seen
him since that graduation day.

Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling
him
his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to
his
son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things. When
he
arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his
heart. He began to search his father's important papers and saw the
still new Quran, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he
opened the Quran and began to turn the pages.

As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped
behind the Quran. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same
dealer
who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of
his
graduation, and the words...PAID IN
FULL.

How many times do we miss ALLAH blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?

You guys should really check out Crescent Youth forums cause every now and then someone post something really cool.

On the CY forums, every so often somebody posts about something and it is really awesome thought material MashAllah. This time the "intellectual in the spotlight" was Naail (known as mirza on the forums). He wrote about -isms and how they affect us negatively and take away from our Islam. He attributes his work to Maryam Jameelah cause he used her works to write this.

I hate Isms...and i know many other muslims share my sentiments.

I am wary of Feminism, Communism, Totalitarianism, Republicanism, Democraticism, and all the other -isms you can imagine. They are human made, and while there is nothing wrong with the products of human thought and intellect, i believe in a hierarchy of reasoning.

I believe the muslim proponents of these "isms" have a skewed reasoning. All these isms state that man is, by himself, able to create some perfect society. This is funny. :insert laugh here:

2500 years ago Greek philosophers announced to the world that man can reach his apex through the unaided application of his rational faculties. They claimed that a man's worth depended on what his deeds, and that morality had nothing to do with theology. They claimed that wed can create a delightful little world just by our own intellects.

A century later, Sir Francis Bacon assured men that science will overtake religion and bestow upon man new abilities previously unknown. He claimed science will end death, poverty, all wars, and disease, to create a quite little heaven on earth.

IN the 19th century, Karl marx landed on the scene with Communism. The true nature of men was, as he claimed, was to work together for the common good. Liquidate the capiatlist aristocracy and every trace of social justice and exploitation will disappear.

Sigmeund Freud promised men that we should shed all our sexual inhibitions and let society be free, this way the feelings of shame, and mental troubles and diseases will be cured in society.

2500 years have passed away; surely this was an enough time for all these people to prove their claims, no?

No, we still have death, new diseases, religion, wars (which were coincidentally aided by new research in the fields of science, hello Mr. Francis Bacon ), and we have more mental, physical and emotional problems in our "sexually free" society rather then a lack of.

Its funny isnt it?

And yet we still have muslims promising us that democracy or feminism or all other isms you can think of us will get our ummah out of the deep end. And when the muslims clamor "what about Islam?" they claim that "democracy is a part of islam!" or "feminism is islam!" or some other crazy BS you hear from them.
For those who accept these statements, im sure they do in good will. But i dont think the muslims realize that it was our own civilization that gave rise to the Christian civilization of modern day. Yes, most historians place the second rise of Europe beginning with the Islamic conquest of Spain and the Crusades where Islamic architecture, intellectual reasoning, medicine, and art created a thinking society in Christian Europe.

Moreover, those who seek to advocate all their isms only bring Islam to light when they feel it will benefit their cause with the masses. For a muslim, Islam is the only priority, and science, social justice, and all that falls in neat categories under Islam. They are bound by what Islam deems permissible and what is right and wrong, morally, in Islam. On the other hand, the apostales of the "isms" have their Feministic/Democratic/Capitalistic ideologies as the top priority and Islam is a passenger, convienently brought to light when needed. I think muslims need to realize those that propose these causes under the banner of their alien ideologies dont really use Islam until they feel it will benefit their cause in the long run, just like G Bush uses Christianity to improve his public image and ratings.

I believe the Ikhwaan of Egypt said it best "Islam is your business, Islam is your marriage, Islam is your fun and games, Islam is your finances, Islam is your complete way of life, and there is nothing we do if it doesnt fall under Islam."

PS - to point something out a friend taught me. Our society was always meant to go from our apex to decadence. When we had Islam we were at our apex. When we left Islam and tried to use other man made ideologies as our vehicles in life, we fell into decadence. Tis our way.

On the other hand, while the Christians had Christianity they were in the "dark" ages. When they left Christianity and began to pursue ideologies created by human intellect, they reached greater heights.

People don't honestly know themselves. How can they expect themselves to know others? Most people go on living in this world day to day with no thought on what their purpose is. The majority of teenagers go to school, come back home, hang out with friends, and play sports like basketball on their day to day life. How often do they wonder what on Earth they are doing on Earth or what they truly believe in? If someone were to ask of their religion, they would surely be ready to name it. Would they be able to explain what it is though? Would they be able to produce physical evidence to support their beliefs? Do they even truly care to believe? Most people don't. They get tense and emotional on any subjects on religion and doing what most of them do best, they insult it. If there is one thing you can commenly find in teenagers, it is their inability to express themselves correctly and find a loop hole or something to cling to in order to take its place. Most people use profanity because of their lack of ability to express their anger or frustration.

Side notes:-Belief isn't just upon physical evidences, it is about belief itself. This world is a test and its not easy to distinguish our believes as correct or not for the majority of us and yet we still believe. This in my opinion is one of the hardest tests. There is ample evidence for why being a muslim is correct though most wont look upon it. And yet people will turn to ridicule any scientific significance the Quran has... Hasan, contemplate on what I said and add on to what I said; belief especially.

Urgent Earthquake Appeal...

Today at MSA two non-muslims came and they really loved the khutbah. We asked them to write letters about how they liked MSA and one of them gave a really nice reponse. He said I like the idea that you God forgives your sins whenever bad befalls you. That was one of the things in the khutbah that Shariq talked about when he talked about the Benfits of Hurricane Katrina.

I'm feeling really good right now.

One thing that I found really cool that he talked about was how we get insurance for our cars and our houses just in case something happens. But we don't get insurance for the one inevitable thing in life; death.

You guys are being BORING!

There seems to be much controversy over Surah 47 Ayah 4, a irreligous Muslim had a debate with me over that. But really we must look at the context of it, as RIGHT after it, the Qur'an says 'in War' which means that 'smite their necks' in WAR. And the beginnig of the Surah is really about the rewards, and how much Allah(SWT) loves those who fight for the sake of Islam and Allah (SWT). The methods/laws of WAR are stated in an entirely different context in a different part of the Qur'an. So if you see this quote on the many 'Muslim Hater' website, know what to say-.

Fun and Serious

Ok well I have two things to say today one is "fun" the other is "serious" and needs commenting on.

Fun things first, today as I was doing my usual surfing of the net, I found a little online RPG called Dofus. The website http://community.dofus.com/ has a few facts, I haven't gotten the time to read anything or even play the game, but it sounds good enough (it is 2D so it shouldn't have any problems with running) and we can play together. Register while the game is downloading.

And for the serious matter I was wondering who is going to the Convention Center to help feed the Louisiana people?

Today, there stands a great opportunity, for those of us who haven’t been involved with the greater non-Muslim community to take a stand, do dawah and furthermore to make a difference.

So what's the proposal? An all-out competition between the high school MSA's to get as many non-perishable food items and toiletries. What's in it for the MSA's besides truckloads of ajr? Free shuttle transportation for your MSA from your school to UH for MIST AND snacks and drinks for the duration of the tournament, as well as the coveted MIST community points.

How does this competition work?:

1. The competition starts 8/31 and will last until 9/16

2. Count all food and toiletry items as they are collected and make it a point to submit a status form on the 2nd, 9th, and 16th.

3. Food and toiletries should be dropped at the following ISGH masajid: Adel Rd., Champions, Synott, Mission Bend, South Zone, New Territory, Southeast, and Bear Creek.

4. ISGH will take all items to THE central drop point for the refugees.

5. The MSA with the MOST number of items will win the prize.

Prizes?:

1. Free transport to MIST in a shuttle bus from your school to the University of Houston.

2. Snacks and drinks for the duration of MIST.

3. MIST points towards community service.

What do you do? :

1. The MSA president should sign up your MSA through the form below.

2. A poster has been provided for you below. Download the poster, print it out (preferably in color), add in information about your MSA on the bottom, and post it all around your school.

3. Make announcements, inform other organizations, tell parents, etc. etc. Advertise, advertise, advertise!

4. Count all food items as they are collected and make it a point to submit a status form on the 2nd, 9th, and 16th.

What's Needed?:

ONLY non-perishable food items (canned stuff, ramen noodles, bottled water, etc.) and toiletries (diapers, shampoo, soap, etc.). NO CLOTHES. Please do your best to get the most for your dollar. Try to get your peers to buy from wal-mart and sam's or wherever else they have cheap stuff. We're not looking for Pantene shampoo or Dove soap. Generic brand in everything is the best.

New Orleans

We all know about Hurricane Katrina hitting New Orleans. Alot of the people are going to move to our town in Houston. I don't know what I can do to help so leave comments about this. Alot of the children from New Orleans are going to be coming to our schools and clasrooms. Theres already fifty coming to my school at Austin.

Salaam guys this is Taha..well I just got this message thing and my comp has this CRAZY virus and it sucks so i had to go on my sis's. Well I was wondering if you guys are gonna volunteer at Sunday School with me...my dad wants me to volunteer at some hospital too cuz he says my sis did that for a while and it helped her and stuff, and Azm and Adam said they might too. I think Im gonna try and volunteer here at Methodist on Saturdays and Sunday School on sundays so I was wondering if yall are comin too, and even if you don't get hours come and help cuz we don't see each other that much and that is like our communication day or w/e. and we can play bball ;). So anywayz I was just wonderin so leave a comment =)
